First Meeting Minutes & Trail Work Detail

Mount Major Snowmobile Club - Minutes of the meeting- Oct. 12, 2021

The meeting was called to order at 6:11 PM with 18 members present. The meeting location was in Gary Connelly’s garage at 427 Rand Hill Rd.


The minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and, on a motion by Larry B., approved.

The cash report was reviewed and, on a motion by Larry B., approved.

Grant in Aid - Winter: We have requested the same grooming money as last year but expect to receive a lot less.

Maps- Brian and Kelly Carleton have offered assistance with putting together a new map.


Groomer reports- The exhaust manifold on the Tucker is broken.

A new actuator has been purchased and installed for the Skandic drag.

The possibility of selling the Tracker was discussed.


Trail Reports-

Many bridges have been repaired.

Many major trails have had work to derock and regrade bad spots.

The 2 culverts on Hussey’s and Gassett’s land has been repaired.

One more load of bridge decking needs to be purchased.


Corr. trail ‘22’- The area near the culvert on Hussey’s property still needs to be brush cut. The poles have been installed on the reroute along the power lines but decking is still needed. The bridge on Frohock Brook Rd still needs work. Signs and fencing will need to be put up at the end of Alton Mt. Rd. to keep sleds out of the field.


Trail A- Signs, decking, and fencing will need to be installed but must wait until Nov. when the soccer league ends.

Trail D- Major brush cutting is needed. A work detail will be scheduled.

Mt. Major and Straightback- There have been reports of vehicles trying to go up Straightback trail. Signs should be made prohibiting this so land owner permissions are not compromised.


Work detail schedule-

Trail D - Saturday and Sunday, October 16 and 17, starting at 9:00 AM. Meet at where trail crosses Jesus Valley Rd. Brush cutters and chain saws are needed.

Straightback Trail - Saturday, October 23, starting at 9:00 AM. Meet at the bottom of Straightback trail near intersection of trail D. If your vehicle is even remotely trail worthy you will be able to drive to this location.


The meeting was adjourned at 7:17 P.M.
